A team led by a biologist is making progress in the fight against Alzheimer's.
A study by the CNIC, CSIC, and IIS-FJD has successfully visualized the accumulation of microthrombi in the brain of a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease using a non-invasive imaging technique.
The team, led by Marta Cortés Canteli, a senior scientist at the Cajal Neuroscience Center (CNC–CSIC) and a research collaborator at the CNIC, used Positron Emission Tomography (PET), a medical imaging technique widely used in clinical practice.
