Presentation of the Biologists’ Association report on the DANA: 30 Regeneration and Retreat Measures
On Monday the 14th, the Biologists’ Association presented its report “From Environmental Catastrophe to Territorial Regeneration. Foundations for a Regeneration Plan” as part of its contribution to the Committee of Experts for the reconstruction after the DANA, of which the Association is a member.
The report analyses the environmental and human causes of the events of 29 October, and proposes highly resilient measures to ensure public safety in the face of future flood events. These proposals align with the EU Nature Restoration Regulation and are also economically advantageous.
All with one clear goal: that any actions taken help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance the vital safety of citizens.
We’ve called them the 30 R’s – 30 measures of Regeneration and Retreat. And paradoxically, hydraulic infrastructure comes last in the list.
