75 RE-VISTE adds a major textile producer for the hospitality industry to its SCRAP program
Resuinsa, a manufacturer of textiles for the hospitality industry, has recently signed on to RE-VISTE, the first collective Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system promoting the collection and management of textiles and footwear in Spain.
With this move, Resuinsa becomes the first company in the hospitality textile sector to join this initiative, voluntarily anticipating the legal obligation that drives the implementation of collective systems for the proper management of textile and footwear products at the end of their useful life.
“RE-VISTE was created as an open and collaborative system, designed to accommodate any company that places textile or footwear products on the market, regardless of its sector. Resuinsa's participation reflects this inclusive approach and the shared commitment to moving towards a more efficient and circular management model,” says Juan Ramón Meléndez, CEO of RE-VISTE.
“We work to achieve more responsible textiles and promote the circular economy from within the hotel sector itself. Therefore, anticipating regulations and joining RE-VISTE allows us to contribute to this transformation, providing our experience and vision to a collective project that seeks solutions for the entire textile ecosystem,” explains Félix Martí, CEO of Resuinsa.
In addition to being a key tool for regulatory compliance for companies in the sector, RE-VISTE also aims to become a catalyst for transformation towards textile circularity. From its inception, the initiative has worked with companies in the textile sector to promote the creation of an open, collaborative, and representative system, and the inclusion of textile companies beyond the fashion industry reinforces this idea.
During this voluntary period, companies adhering to RE-VISTE not only stay informed of all developments related to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in textiles, both nationally and in Europe, but also actively participate in building the future of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
